HEAT OR EAT? No Family Should Have to Choose.
Too many Northwest North Carolina families are making tough choices: Do they pay a utility bill, or buy food? Do they pay for their medication, or buy food? Do they pay for childcare, or buy food?
At Second Harvest Food Bank, we believe that nutritious food should never be in question when you are raising a family.
Every day, through our network of 460+ soup kitchens, pantries, shelters, and special meal locations for kids across 18 counties, Second Harvest moves food to the dinner tables of children, families, and seniors in need. Looking ahead to 2019, we are determined to more.
As a collaborating partner in the City of Winston-Salem’s Think Orange initiatives, Second Harvest will be expanding our Providence Community Meals program to provide nutritious evening meals to low-income children and disabled adults through 14 sites across the city, as well as partner with the City to raise awareness of childhood hunger and get healthy meals to more kids in need during the months that school is out for summer.
