10 Unique Recipes to Celebrate National Fruits and Veggies Month

Dragon fruit being prepared for Dragon Fruit Salsa

September is National Fruits and Veggies Month! All month long Second Harvest has been celebrating with fruit and veggie tastings, recipe sharing, trivia contests and other fruit and veggie events.

Part of our work here at the food bank is to not only distribute food to families in need, but to make sure our communities have access to healthy, nutritious food.

These recipes are just a few highlights from this month-long celebration.

1. Dragon Fruit Salsa

2. Roasted Cinnamon Guavas

3. Pumpkin Chili

4. Pumpkin Energy Balls

5. Taco-Stuffed Acorn Squash

6. Fig Pizza

7. Roasted Sweet Potato, Pear, and Onion

8. Thai Spicy Eggplant with Sweet Basil

9. Braised Radishes

10. Creamy Roasted Brussel Sprouts and Quinoa Gratin

Want to get in on the action? Take the Have A Plant™ Pledge! Once you pledge to add one more fruit or veggie to your daily diet for the month, try these delicious recipes to help reach your goal!

September may almost be over, but that does not mean your pursuit of fruits and veggies has to end!
