On May 5th, it was a packed house at Second Harvest as two classes graduated together from the Triad Community Kitchen (TCK) program. Double the students, double the families, double the tears.
The TCK program highlights so many aspects of the food bank’s work: addressing poverty in our communities through food, collaboration and creating opportunity.
“Not so long ago, I didn’t know what I was going to do. Now I can be a mother, a provider, and I can do what I love,” said one graduate as she accepted her diploma. Two weeks after this graduation ceremony, it was reported that 90% of these graduates have landed jobs in local restaurants.
