Second Harvest is fortunate to have many dedicated volunteers that support our mission of moving healthy, nutritious food to the 18 counties of Northwest North Carolina that we serve.
Even amongst all these outstanding volunteers, the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices volunteer group really stands out.
Berkshire Hathaway has demonstrated their commitment to Second Harvest by participating in our work every step of the way, from collecting food at food drives to helping us sort and inspect food back at our warehouses in Winston-Salem.
“At Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Carolinas Realty ‘we make great neighbors’ and we mean that,” says Tommy Camp, president & CEO. “It is at the core of everything we do in our business, and what we do in our community. Giving back as a group is a privilege – our sales associates and staff love it, and we know that our time spent at Second Harvest makes an impact.”
For 12 plus years, Berkshire Hathaway has been volunteering, collecting donations and supporting Second Harvest’s programs through financial contributions, demonstrating the company’s incredible dedication to service and to making Northwest North Carolina hunger free. Their teams are… in a word… tireless.
“No one should go hungry,” continues Camp. “As we learned more about the food insecurity statistics in the surrounding communities, we decided to make a focused effort to provide for our neighbors in need. The mission of Second Harvest has become our mission and we are proud to support in various ways throughout the year.”
