We turn your vehicle into meals for neighbors
We can’t think of a more fitting way to give new life to your car, truck, van, SUV, boat, motorcycle, ATV, RV, trailer, or airplane than by participating in Second Harvest’s vehicle donation program.

Here's How It Works:

We partner with CARS to facilitate the vehicle donation process.
To get started, visit Second Harvest's page on the CARS website, or call CARS toll-free at 855.500.7433.

The Donation Process via CARS At-A-Glance:
Vehicle Pick Up is Scheduled

After you contact CARS via their website, they will reach out within 2-3 business days to schedule a convenient time for vehicle pick-up. A licensed tow company will collect your vehicle at no cost to you and transport it to a sales location. You will receive a Donation Receipt from the tow driver at the time of pick-up.
Donated Vehicle is Sold
CARS will evaluate the donated vehicle at its sales location. When cost-effective, CARS will make necessary repairs. Most donated vehicles are sold through auction houses, but unique or specialty items may be sold through other means. CARS is committed to ensuring that Second Harvest Food Bank receives the maximum amount of money for each vehicle donation.
Tax Deduction Receipts and Forms are Provided
Within 30 days of the sale of your donated vehicle, you will receive a thank you letter that can be used as a tax receipt. This may be your only receipt if the vehicle sells for $500 or less. If it sells for more than $500 and your tax identification number has been provided, CARS will mail you an additional receipt, known as 'IRS Form 1098-C, Contributions of Motor Vehicles, Boats, and Airplanes.'"
