for 6 weeks + a one-week internship -
GRACE
Culinary programming for adults living with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Registration fees vary by track. Options for financial assistance will be discussed during your required tour. Additional program details are available below.

Since its inception, Providence has been opening the doors of opportunity for community members facing challenges to gaining employment. Some of our students have experienced incarceration, others substance abuse or some other significant challenge. Providence is a place for second, third, and even fourth chances.

Culinary Fundamentals Certificate
Prerequisite - Life Skills and Food Safety

GRACE Basic Culinary Program
Empowering Independence in the Kitchen
Duration - Six weeks, held on Wednesdays | 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
GRACE is a supportive, hands-on program designed for individuals with differing abilities. Taught in an inclusive and encouraging environment, this class series focuses on building independence in the home kitchen while introducing professional kitchen skills for those who may one day wish to work in foodservice.
Designed by Chef Daryl Pobanz, the class is led by experienced culinary educators, including Chefs Steve and Stephen Jones, a father and son duo who went through the core culinary training program together and have been sharing their skills and love of cooking with others ever since.
Each student will work toward a final project that showcases the skills they've learned throughout the course.
This course covers foundational topics, including:

Microwave & stove top cooking

Preparing soups, sandwiches, favorites like mac & cheese, and tasty healthy options such as chicken & broccoli.
