Planned Giving

Create a legacy by feeding community

You can help future generations grow up healthy—not hungry—by making a planned gift to Second Harvest Food Bank.

Your gift will assure that people in our community continue to have access to healthy food when they need it and will support our work building solutions to hunger and its root causes.

To help you get started on your plans and legacy, you can use FreeWill, an online tool that guides you through the process of creating a legally valid will or trust. It’s easy to use, accessible online, and can be completed in 20 minutes.

Joining the Second Harvest Legacy Society is simple. Establish any of the following estate plan gifts, and you become a cherished member:

  • Name Second Harvest Food Bank in your will or living trust

  • Designate Second Harvest Food Bank as a beneficiary of your retirement plan

  • Establish a planned gift that provides lifetime income for you and/or your spouse

  • Make Second Harvest Food Bank the beneficiary of your life insurance policy

Second Harvest Legacy Society members recognize the forward-thinking intentions of Second Harvest Food Bank and the power of generous philanthropic giving to create meaningful, positive change for the people and communities of Northwest North Carolina.

With your help, Second Harvest will remain a strong and vital community asset for years to come.
