Participation Criteria

who can join the second harvest network?

Second Harvest Network Partners are:
 

  • Located within our 18 county service region.
     
  • 501(c)(3) charitable organizations that distribute food directly to community members.
     

  • Open to all and do not exclude people based on race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, handicap, marital status, immigration status, gender identity, or sexual orientation. 
     

  • Licensed or certified by all appropriate health authorities, as required. 

     

Second Harvest Network Partners have:
 

  • Resources to obtain additional items from other sources for their programs. 
     

  • An established process to screen clients, keep accurate records on individuals served, and established procedures for serving community members (including times, days, amounts, etc.). 
     

  • Transportation and personnel to pick up and load product from the Second Harvest Food Bank warehouse, plus tarps and tie-downs for open-bed vehicles. 
     

  • Adequate refrigeration and/or storage space to ensure the integrity of the product until used and/or distributed.
     

  • An established agency building (not a private residence or mobile unit without climate controls) to store products.

 

 

Second Harvest Network Partners agree to:

  • Provide monthly statistics to the Second Harvest Food Bank. 
     

  • Participate in a bi-annual (or when appropriate) on-site monitoring visit by Second Harvest Food Bank staff. 
    .  

  • Support Second Harvest Food Bank through the payment of applicable handling fees.
