On Saturday, May 11, 2024, rain or shine, area Letter Carriers will perform double duty, delivering mail and collecting your donations of non-perishable food. It's all part of the annual, nationwide Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive to support Food Banks nationwide, including Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC and its network of partner food assistance agencies serving the region.
In the days leading up to the drive, letter carriers will be distributing grocery bags and reminder postcards to residential mailboxes. Supporting the effort is easy. Simply place your non-perishable food donations in any grocery bag and set them by your mailbox before the mail runs on Saturday, May 11. Your letter carrier will do the rest!
Working closely with the letter carriers, Second Harvest Food Bank, their local partner agencies and an army of volunteers will sort donations and make sure they get to families in need in our area. More helping hands are needed! Learn more and sign up here.

The Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Drive comes at critical time. With school letting out for summer in just a few short weeks, Second Harvest Food Bank is working to help stock the shelves of it partner food pantries for summer.
