Second Harvest’s Chuck Harmon is back in his office at our Winston-Salem warehouses after completing a successful 250-mile trek from Boone to Burlington this past July.
With your support, Chuck’s Hike to End Summer Hunger helped raise awareness about summer hunger in our service region, as well as raise the necessary food and funds to support kids in need. We are grateful to our partners at WXII who provided tremendous support in spreading our message that #summermealsmatter.
“I am not the only one who went the extra mile,” says Chuck. “Many who have volunteered, opened their hearts, made donations and spread awareness have engaged just as much during this walk. My heart is filled with gratitude.”
Your generous gifts are being used today to provide summer meals for children in the 18 counties of Northwest North Carolina that we serve, giving them the nourishment they will need to flourish when they return to school in the fall.
Because of your support, our Hike to End Summer Hunger raised enough food and funds to provide more than HALF A MILLION MEALS for kids this summer!
